WH Warren was an instructor at the Machine gun training school, at Melton Park. But was sent to France to take part n the defense of Amiens. He was killed near to Villers-Bretonneux, his death was witnessed by Cpl R Elmes. He was shouting a fire order, "200yrds 1 o'clock" and vanished in the heavy fire. His body was not identified. He is commemorated on the Poziers memorial. His brother John Warren was killled at Arras, earlier in the war. William Henry was my great grandfather, and I have his name.
