Private Joseph William Woodfin lived with his wife in Birkenhead, My grandfather and grandmother were from Ellesmere Port and Ellesmere respectively and could have well been related. My grandfather was blown up by a mine driving an lorry carrying wounded men in it but never got killed at that time, but died of gangrene in 1966 from the shrapnel in his body.
