Ernest served in the Household Cavalry Regiment, Hertfordshire Yeomanry Battalion, in the Asiatic part of WW1 and died in India on the 12 November 1918. He was the son of Susan Muncey and the late Arthur Hallum who lived in Royston Hertfordshire
