Private 24522 Herbert John Cordwell of the Reserve Cavalry Regiment was born in 1877 the son of John Cordwell and Mary nee Newnham. Herbert married Ellen Currell in 1909 and they had three children. He died on the 24th April 1916 and is buried in Grange Gorman Military Cemetery Dublin, Ireland, Grave number CE 635. His story is in our Family Tree and his name will be remembered by future generations.
