My great-uncle Ernest Tindall perished in Belgium in WW1, I believe in the 3rd Battle of Ypres at Passchendaele on 23rd October, 1917. What he went through we can see from pictures but can only imagine the true horror. He is named on the memorial at Tyne Cot Cemetery in Belgium but I don't think he has a known grave, and was probably one of those never found. But this is where his regiment was fighting and this is where he now lies. In Flanders Fields where poppies blow. Alongside thousands of others who perished in this Hell. I only found out this information recently, I wish I'd done it sooner. I hope wherever you are you know I think of you and am proud.
