Jack was the youngest son of a family of 8, his eldest brother Frank served in the Navy. Brother Arthur also in Army. How Gran and Granddad worried I cannot imagine. Frank and Arthur came safely through the War, but, Jack was only 18, I have his Birth Certificate. He was 'There one minute and gone the next' so his friends told his parents. on their return. How I wish I had a photograph of Jack. The 1911 census gives his place of work as a 0ffice Boy, I just wonder how alike he was to other members of family. His youngest sister gave me Jack's medals. Gran never got over his death and passed away from cancer in 1926..
