Raymond was the eldest son of my great aunt Annie. He lived for a time with an aunt & her husband in Wales, when he was at school. He had 2 younger brothers, the middle brother Norman being killed serving in the Navy in WW2, shortly after Annie's death through bombing. She was a civilian casualty in the war. His father was missing in the Boer War, so altogether the family suffered many losses in the service of the country. Raymond was my mother's cousin, so he would have been mine 'once removed' I only remember seeing a photo of the 3 brothers as boys, but heard about the family history.
