My Great Grandfather is not forgotten. The baby in the picture is my grandmother Ida Green. Jim joined in 1914 but was injured at Aldershot and discharged. He recovered and rejoined in June be 1916. He served until killed by a shell at Lens in August 1917. He was an officers batman and was delivering a pass to go on leave to a sentry. He also should have been going on leave the day after. He is remembered at the memorial at the Unitarian Chapel Chesterfield, where he had been a member of the Choir. He was 37. He left a wife and 4 children.
