My mums Uncle John James Dermedy served as an Able Seaman in the Royal Navy. He was a serving sailor on HMS Black Prince when it was sunk during the Battle of Jutland in May 1916 with all hands, 857 crew, sadly lost. We are honoured to look after his medals and the Next of Kin Memorial Plaque and Scroll which all families who lost someone in WW1 received. I have visited the Portsmouth Naval Memorial and seen his name. "Remembered with Honour" as are all the men and women who served and died for their country. "At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them."
