Richard Hancock was my Great Great Uncle. My Gran used to tell me about him even though she never met him. He left behind a wife and daughter. He was killed whilst serving aboard HMS Monmouth, when she was sunk during the battle of Coronel, off the coast of Chile in the Pacific. He like hundreds of others aboard the ship never came home. He has never been forgotten.
