Samuel Snell was my father's eldest sister's first husband. They were married for a week before he went to war and was killed in action..I have his WW1 British Campaign Medals, his WW1 Memorial Plaque and letters from Lord Kitchener and George V. They were sent to his wife who was too upset to keep them. She gave them to my father and since his death in 1997, I have cherished them. They will pass on to my son.. I never knew him, but Samuel Snell has been part of my life and part of my family's spoken history. He will be remembered from generation to generation..
