William, we know that you were born in Rathven and moved with the family to Beauly before 1901, but what we do not know is how you came to join the Royal Irish Rifles. In addition to your memorial on your grave in Belgium you were also named on the family headstone in Beauly St Mary Cemetery. Your father died in 1904, and your mother Mary Anne was left alone to mourn your loss "...William Ogilvie, died of wounds in France 23rd October 1918, aged 22 years RIP". Harry.
