To a soldier of the Great War. I did not know you but I would have liked to know you. We could be related somewhere as we share the same surname. My paternal grandfather served with the Somersets and had the same initials ( J.E.) as you and was KIA in Northern France on 23/03/18. You nobly gave your life so that future generations could live theirs. I can only imagine what life was like in the trenches for you. Horrific probably doesn't come close. We owe you a great debt of gratitude which we will never be able to repay. THANKYOU. "At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them."
