I am investigating the names on the WW1 Memorial in Holy Trinity Church, Knaphill.

One of the Military Records states Cpl L Chandler as being the "Son of Mrs M. J. Chandler, of "The Yews," High St., Knaphill, Woking, Surrey." and he is mentioned somewhere else as being "Lewis Peat Chandler".   He was 20 years old when he was "Killed in Action."  I have been unable to trace much more about the family other than he was born in Bramey, Hampshire and his mother's full name is Martha Jane Chandler.

The rest, as they say, is "known unto God" and we will keep remembering him in Knaphill.
