From the war diaries of the 14th Bn RWF:

1917 Feb 24 Enemy raided our line 40 yards to the right of Ealing and captured Sergt. Jones of “A” Coy, and a Lewis gun in No. 6 Post. During the heavy hostile artillery box barrage Capt. P F Craddock, Lieut. W J Williams and 2nd Lieut S Jones were killed.
