In 1950’s the family lived at 3 Grange Terrace Cottage, Lanes End, Hambledon, Surrey. At this time, my Auntie lived next door to William’s mother, Eliza and she gave her William’s memorial plaque. My Auntie recently gave his plaque to me and I have researched his life and will always remember that William gave his life for our freedom. I only wish I had known him. Lest we forget.
