Harold was the sixth child of Daniel and Martha Jones of Blaisdon, Gloucestershire, baptised in December 1895. In 1911 Harold was working as railway porter in Pontypool, age 16. In 1912 Harold joined the Territorials, and the 1/2nd Monmouthshire Regiment landed in France at le Havre on 7th November 1914.In January 1917 they were on the Somme when Harold was killed in action.
Harold is commemorated on the Blaisdon War Memorial and on the Roll of Honour at the Zion Chapel Longhope.
