William george Reynolds hailed  from Chesham in Buckinghamshire and was a Master Baker by trade.He was closely connected to St Mary's Parish Church being the leader of the church athletic team involved with pyramid building and wooden club swinging routines. He was the first captain of the Church Lad's Brigade, a semi-military organisation for boys of 8 to 16+yers. He handed over after 9 months once the company had become established.

Health issues saw him off to Australia for a warmer climate to ease his severe chest complaint, brought on by the flour dust in his profession as a baker. He had one visit back to England to visit his wife, Elizabeth, daughter Alice and son William John. Volunteering t the start od Worls War One to serve King and Country. he joined up with a gang of his mates into the Australian Imperial Force and was sent via Alexandria to The Dardenelles and was killed on the 3rd of May 1915 at Galipolli. His name is on plate 39 of the Lone Pine Memorial on the peninula.
