Jack was born May 1891 at Felmingham Norfolk. He was the eldest of five 3 sisters and 1 brother. His parents Robert and Agnes Flood. He joined the Norfolk Regiment 8th June 1915. he was appointed to 7th Batt. He landed at Boulogne and was injured in july 1916 and was moved to 25th Field Ambulance with shrapnel to right leg and buttock. He was sent to Eastbourne Camp to recover. There he met Hilda May Hobbs, a nurse, they were married at Eastbourne Register Office. He returned to the front. He was injured twice more 15th September he returned to the front to take part in an action 29th September he was fatally wounded and died at a field station. The following day the Norfolk Reg. Withdrew and took no further part in the action. His Wife Hilda was notified of his death 15th October 1918. He never met his daughter.
