William Griffiths was born c1892 at North Haggerston Shoreditch.

From the local newspaper - Corporal Griffiths of the London Regiment son of Mr and Mrs Griffiths of 95 Hither Green Lane was killed 14 September 1918. His captain wrote that we have lost a good and cheerful comrade. He had served in Salonika, Egypt, Palestine and France. He had only been drafted back to France 6 weeks before his death. He enlisted in March 1915.

In 1911 he was living at 31 Felton Street, Hyde Rd, Hoxton with his parents William and Eliza. He has 2 brothers George and Matthew and a sister Eliza.  5 of his 8 siblings have died.

 In 1901 he is living at 57 Gifford Street Shoreditch with his parents and brother George.
