Sydney Carl Jordan worked for the New Zealand Insurance Company Ltd. in the Napier office. He enlisted in June 1915, served in Egypt and France as a Corporal in the New Zealand Rifle Brigade 2nd Battalion and was killed in action at Passchendaele. He was aged about 22.
