Percival Douglas Chapman a Sergeant in 47th Bt Australian Infantry. Although he fought with the Australian forces, he was a Warsash boy and lived in Warsash Road till he was 17. His parents Frank & Alice and their family moved to Toomwoomba in Queensland in 1911. His grandmother was Mrs Bartholomew of Hook. He died on 7th June, the first day of the Battle of Messines and is listed on the Menin Gate Memorial at Ieper. He was about 23 years old.
