Second Lieutenant M L Greenhalgh, 6th The King's (Liverpool Regiment), was killed on patrol duty on September 25, 1915. He entered St Bees School Foundation in 1909 and left in 1912. Having been very keen on his OTC work at School, he had no difficulty in obtaining, and holding with real distinction, a commission in The King's (Liverpool Regiment). The employees of Grey's Mill Company, Stockport, with whom Greenhalgh had been associated before joining the forces, have shown their esteem and affection for him by placing a clock in the Stockport Infirmary.
