Stanley George Nash and his twin brother Horace William share a headstone in my local cemetery in Chesham, Buckinghamshire. Beneath their names the stone says 'Both husbands of Amy' and I can't help wondering - were the boys in the trenches together? Did they agree that if Horace came back but Stanley didn't, Horace should look after Amy? I look for the stone whenever I walk through there. Horace lived till 1967 and Amy till 1969, and I'm sure they remembered Stanley every day of those years.
