James Hope was the elder brother of Ada, my Grandmother, Ernest and Cyril. He was born in 1884 in Cubbington, Warwickshire. I remember as a child being shown a 'dead man's penny', inscribed with his name, by my Grandmother. Back then, I didn't understand what it was nor what it meant. Sadly, it has been lost.
