Sergeant Norman Keith ROUGHTON (1893-1915).

Born 14 May 1893 - at Nelson, South Island, New Zealand.

Norman was the son of William & Hannah Roughton - of Nelson.

Prior to enlistment for war service Norman Roughton was employed as a Grocer - at Nelson.

Norman Roughton enlisted for war service - on 15 August 1914 - at Nelson. He was 21 years of age.

On 16 October 1914 Sergeant Roughton left New Zealand for overseas war service - with the Main Body NZEF - aboard HMNZ Transport Ship T12 'Waimana'.

Sergeant Norman Roughton served at Egypt (1915).

On 12 October 1915 Sergeant Norman K. Roughton died of disease (Enteric) - at the 15th Stationary Hospital - at Mudros, Lemnos Island, Greece. He was 22 years of age.

Sergeant Norman Roughton is buried at East Mudros Military Cemetery, Lemnos, Greece (Grave ref: 111.B.39).
