William Allbright, my great uncle - my paternal grandfather's brother; William emigrated to Canada from Northampton just before WW1 in approx 1912-13; he joined his elder brother Alfred who had emigrated previously. William joined the Canadian Infantry on 8 June 1915 and served in many parts of Belgium including Vimy Ridge. He sustained injuries at the 3rd Battle of Ypres and died the day after his 23rd birthday on 5th November 1917. He is buried at Nine Elms British Cemetery, Poperinghe, Belgium where my husband laid a wreath on the grave in July 2014.
