Robert Barker worked for the General Accident Fire and Life Assurance Corporation Ltd. in the Liverpool branch. He began his career with the corporation in Sheffield in 09 April 1907, transferred to Liverpool branch on 01 May 1910 and was appointed as an inspector there on 01 April 1913. He served as a Gunner in the Royal Garrison Artillery 154th Siege Battery and died of wounds in France. He was 39.
