He was the foster son of Mrs Firth of 6 Castlegate Huddersfield. Born 07/08/1895 and enlisted 06/11/1914.

A former pupil at St. Patrick's Catholic Primary School, one of fifty known fatalities in the Great War, who are still remembered in the school.

Single and employed as an oiler at Albion Mills Firth Street. Private 5/3463. Buried Connaught CGCC Plot 1., Row D Grave 3. He is on the roll of honour at the Huddersfield Drill Hall on the University campus.
