John Alfred Jordan was born in Ipswich in 1898. The second child to William and Elizabeth Jordan. He was only 16 years old when he enlisted on 8 November 1914. He was 17, not 19 as records show, when he was severely wounded and brought home from France where he died from his injuries. He has a war grave in Ipswich Old Cemetery.
