Dearest Great Uncle Norman. Grandad, Arthur Edward, was your brother and I have just started researching my English family history. Destiny ensured that you were to be sacrificed in 1916, but serendipity ensured that I was to find you in 2017. As a mother myself, I know that Martha must have been so unbelieveably heartbroken to have lost her beautiful boy. Sadly, Dad never spoke to me about you to me. Maybe he never knew about you. But he always commemorated the British soldiers buried in Theux and so I firmly believe that in his heart and soul, he had an unkowingly special place for you. I'll soon be back in Belgium and I'll make a very specially proud detour to be honoured to make your acquanintance. Anne xxx
