John Ogbourne Surridge, served on the Dunbar Moore, merchant navy ship. He was killed when the ship was sunk, leaving behind his two year old son John Arthur Leonard, and wife Isabella. My dear grandfather, John Arthur Leonard went on to serve in WW2, and happily returned home to be a devoted husband, father and grandfather. In honour of John Ogbourne , the name John is retained in the family, by grandson, John, great grandson, Stephen John, and great great grandsons William Arthur John and Gethin John.
