Perhaps

Perhaps one day I will tuck into a warm Christmas dinner

But right now all I seem to tuck into is cold mouldy soup which I only get once a day and all I hear is the rumble of my stomach.

Perhaps one day I will see happy New Year eve fireworks

But right now all I see are bombs and bullets exploding and flying through the black  sky filled with ash and smoke.

Perhaps one day I will hear  the scream of my new born baby

 as loud as a lion

But right now the only scream I hear are people screaming in agony and  vicious pain.

Perhaps one day I will snuggle up by the warm fire

But right now I can only hear the gun fire as loud as thunder.

Perhaps one day I will renew my vows with you

Hoping that one day I will be home again with you.
