2nd. Battalion, Queen’s (Royal West Surrey Regiment). Transferred to 15th. Labour Corps, 162721. Private. Died at 3.40 am in North Evington War Hospital, Leicester, from Bronchial Pneumonia of the right lung on Tuesday 22nd. April 1919, aged 36.

William’s mother, Mary paid 4s. 11d. for the following personal inscription to be carved on his Headstone:
“FAITHFUL UNTO DEATH”
A Separation Allowance of 11s. 7d. was paid to his Mother, Mary Deedman, and The Scroll of Honour was also sent to her, as were all of William’s articles of personal property.
William is also Commemorated on The Wyke and Normandy War Memorial, Hunts Hill Road, Guildford, Surrey, together with 34 other Parishioners who also Fell during The Great War.
