Walter Moore died on the 29th of September 1918 north of Ploegsteert Wood nr Ypres and was buried nearby, he was later reburied at Bedford House Cemetery in 1922.

He was only in France 22 days. HIs brother George William won the DCM at the Somme in 1916

Left behind were his wife Lucy Emma and daughter Lucy.
