Married my great gran Elizabeth in Dover when posted here in 1914. Had two daughters with her. Kathleen and Ivy. Ivy was killed when 18 months old when run over by horse and cart. Kathleen grew up, married and had 6 children of her own, the oldest of which was my mum. Elizabeth lived to see the birth of my son, her great,great grandson. In 2014 I went to ecoivres and found my great grandad. I took a poppy and a photo of the six generations. I asked him if we were worth the sacrifice. I am positive he would say yes
