In Commemoration of Sergeant Harold George Vincent Doe,  13th Battalion of the Essex Regiment 3/3387.  Harold was born between October and December 1891 in Colchester, Essex.  He was Killed in action 13 NOVEMBER 1916 France and Flanders  War Diaries (Gallipoli) Essex Regiment P064S122.  In 1911 he was living at 7 Papillon Rd, Colchester working as an Estate Agent's Clerk with his father George William Doe (born 1858 Occupation - Engineer's Clerk), (step) mother, Annie (born 1869) and siblings Olive Winifred (born 1886) and Hedley James Spencer Doe (born 1894). Harolds mother was Harriet Vincent Saunders born april to June 1860 in Colchester, Essex and died October to December 1901 in Colchester, Essex.  Harold married Esther Lily Herbert (born 1891) in Tendring Apr-May-Jun 1915..  Esther at the time of Harolds death was living at 19 West Stockwell St, Colchester.  Harold is Commemorated on Colchester War Memorial,  and also on the Roll of Honor inscribed on vellum that is display in the front entrance of Colchester Town Hall. After Harold was Killed in action, Esther later remarried Ernest T Bruce, Apr-May-June 1920 in Colchester.
