Thanks to family history research, I only discovered Thomas's existance about three years ago and have subsequently paid a visit to his grave in St Sever Cemetery in Rouen. Thomas was born in Uddingston, Lanarkshire in 1881 and was the youngest of four sons of Alexander and Margaret Montgomery.  He was a member of the 16th Battalion Royal Scots  This was a pals battalion manned largely by players and supportters of Heart of Midlothina Football.  He died from wounds,but I do not know where they were sustained.
