Robert William Brown was the brother of my Aunt's husband.  They kept his commemorative plaque on their wall until they died.  Robert William was in the Bedfordshire Regiment for 11 months, in England, before transferring to the 1st Battalion, North Staffordshire Regiment on arrival in France, in 1918.  He was Killed in action within a few weeks, during the German offensive known as Operation Michael.  He was 19 years old.  He was not directly related to me but, as he had no children, I will pledge to remember him.
