David Henry Scruby was born in 1882 in Mile End, London, the son of Fordham George (b.1847) a Carman and Sarah (b.1845)

His siblings were, Sarah A b.1878 and Fordham C b.1881.

The Sutton area Street Directory 1916 had the family living at 89 Washington Rd, Worcester Park.

David married Nellie Augusta Lane (b.1888) on the 22nd August 1909, they had one child Doris Nellie b.1911. The 1911 Census confirmed they were living at 55 Aldred Rd, Kennington. David was listed as a Tobacconists Clerk.

David’s name appears on the War Memorial in Worcester Park and this entry has been completed on behalf of The Royal British Legion Worcester Park Branch.
