Born on 10th October 1882 in Seaton Carew, Durham , Henry was the son of Thomas William Dykes and Isabella (Nee Barker) On the 1911 census the family had moved to Boston Spa and lived on the High Street, and Henry was recorded as being a Hotel Boots. 

1 Feb 1913 Thorner , St. Peter Henry married Clara Noble.
