At enlistment Thomas Reynolds was posted as a Private to the Canterbury Infantry Regiment, 12th (Nelson) Company, 18th Reinforcements, New Zealand Expeditionary Forces (NZEF).
On 11 October 1916 Private Reynolds left New Zealand for overseas war service - with the 18th Reinforcements NZEF - aboard HMNZT 67 "Tofua" - from Port of Wellington, North Island, New Zealand.
Private Reynolds disembarked, from his transport ship, at Devonport, England - on 28 December 1916. He was marched into Sling Camp, at England, the same day.
On 20 March 1917 Private Reynolds entered Camp at Codford, England.
On 5 September 1917 Private Reynolds left England - for active war service - in France.
