Captain William Arthur Bond, M.C. & Bar, King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry attached 40 Squadron Royal Flying Corps, was killed in action on 22nd July 1917.
Credited with five aerial victories between 10th May and 9th June 1917, the cause of his death is uncertain. According to his squadron, he was shot down by anti-aircraft fire but other sources suggest he was a victim of Uffz. Beyer and ...Lt. Ebert of Flg. Abt. 235
