David Richard Williams worked for the Law Integrity Insurance Company. He served as a Private in The King's (Liverpool Regiment), 18th Battalion and was one of the first to enlist in the 'pals' regiment. He was wounded in the thigh with a piece of shrapnel on 01/07/1916 and died in hospital one week later. The chaplain wrote to his parents to say that they should be proud of him and that he had said he was glad he had gone out to the call of duty. He was 21.
