Henry M Meadows, known as Mike or Harry, worked for Norwich Union Fire in the Norwich head office. He was appointed to the company's Workmen's Accident proposals section in 1899. An angler and keen walker he had enlisted by September 1914. He served as a Lance Corporal in the Norfolk Regiment 8th Battalion and died in France during the "great move forward",  leaving a widow and 5 children. He was 32.
