Another Sutton soldier who has made the supreme sacrifice is Private J.W Edwards, 3035, 1st Sherwood Foresters, D Company whose home was at Bower's Yard.  The deceased soldier.was 22 years of age and prior to enlisting in November 1914 worked at the Summit Colliery. He had been in France since June 1915 and was killed in action on July 1st last. Private Edwards was one of the Sherwood Foresters who took part in the first route march through Sutton.
