Walter Wilson was born in Cullen, Scotland. Sadly orphanned he spent some years in an orphange in Inverness with his sisters. A good footballer he played for Inverness Thistle and Aston Villa before enlisting in the 1st batallion of the Seaforth Highlanders. He was killed on 22/4/1916 at Sanniayat..
