Thomas was the youngest of three brothers. He enlisted at the beginning of the war and was aged 19 when he was killed in action in Northern France. He is commemorated on Le Touret memorial in Northern France (a small but very moving war memorial). His eldest brother John was wounded at Gallipoli and discharged but his second eldest brother, William was also tragically killed in action in August 1917.
