Herman was 1 of a pair of twins, and 1 of three brothers that served in the 1st WW. Herman died the other 2 survived he has his name on the memorial at Armitage Bridge Church in Huddersfield. Herman's twin was said to have colapsed and instictively knew when Herman died, although he was nowhere near the casulty clearing station. My grandmother was his youngest sister and remembered him fondly, and also remembered her other brothers coming back from the war. She would often recall how the 2 brothers uniforms were lice ridden and had to be bunt as they were not allowed in teh house!
