ThomasSamuel b.1884. Married Beatrice Flora Wade (b.1879) in Brixton in 1909. Thomas was a shoemaker and they set up home in Whitstable, Kent, a few miles from Beatrice’s birth place of Blean. They then moved to East Greenwich. Thomas joined the 12th battalion, Rifle Brigade in WW1 and was killed in action on 7th October 1916 at the battle of the Somme. His body was never found but his name is engraved on the Thiepval Memorial, France.
